About the Programme

The Doctor of Philosophy in Operations Management that we offer provides a platform for interrogation of operation management theories, concepts, and practices while recognizing its interplay with other disciplines such as Business, procurement, and Supply Chain Management. The programme grounds application of scientific approaches to test operations management phenomena. It encourages a learner-driven and active participation approach. The programme considers how people, processes, and structures interrelate. It is concerned with data and metrics on operations management. The learner will seek new knowledge in emerging areas in operations management and use the knowledge to build on related theories. The programme focuses on societal needs and targets excellence in its delivery and output, provides equity in opportunities within its pursuit and placement, and is expected to foster integrity and coexistence among people.

Admission Requirements

The applicant must:

  1. Satisfy the minimum entry requirements for admission into the University.
  2. Satisfy the entry requirements for admission to the School of Business and Economics of Maseno University.
  3. Satisfy the entry requirements for admission as set out by Maseno
    University School of Graduate Studies.

A student shall graduate after covering all the course requirements for the 8 courses with a minimum of 4 units per academic Semester for 2 academic semesters and at least 2 academic years developing and writing a research thesis.
