The Master of Economics (Economic Policy Analysis and Management) programme enables candidates to understand, describe and compare the important Economic phenomena across sectors and Economies. This is market-driven programme intended to benefit current practitioners in Public sector, Private sector, International Organization, Banking sector, Insurance industry, county managers, civil service, labour organizations and academicians. The programme has been developed after an extensive and highly interactive market survey. Graduates of this programme will be in high demand in the public and private sectors both locally and internationally.

The program is designed to develop economists with skill in using economic ideas and methods and with a strong policy orientation. Our objective is to provide students with graduate-level technical training that has direct policy relevance.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for admission into Master of Arts/Economics degree programme candidates shall be:

i. Holders of First class or upper second class honours degree in Economics or any other relevant discipline of Maseno university

ii. Holders of first degree from an accredited University and recognized by Maseno university senate as equivalent to a first class or upper second class honours degree of Maseno university

iii. Holders of lower second class honours degree of Maseno university or of a recognized university in Economics or any other relevant discipline; plus evidence of post graduate research.

iv. Pass degree with a post graduate diploma in the relevant areas

PROGRAMME DURATION

The programme of study leading to the award of the Master’s Degree spans over a minimum period of 2 years of 4 semesters
