The Bachelor of Business Information Technology (BBIT) Programme is geared towards equipping graduates with sufficient knowledge in business management skills and skills in Information Technology. It combines the key aspects of Information Technology (covering areas such as software development, communications, and networking, security, systems analysis, databases, etc.) with the key facets of business such as accounting, finance, economics, management, marketing, human resources, and operations management.   This combination of skills and knowledge prepares graduates to be immediately productive in the modern IT-based business environment. The programme lays a strong foundation for the candidates progressing to graduate studies in the field.

 


AdmissionRequirements

To be eligible for admission into the Bachelor of Business Information Technology   (BBIT),   

            a candidate must meet the minimum Maseno University academic qualification requirements as  

            given below;  

  1. An aggregate grade of   C+   in K.C.S.E. and a minimum grade of C in    

                          Mathematics OR

  1. TWO Principal passes in “A” Level/Kenya Advanced Certificates of Education (KACE)  OR  CUE/ NEC recognized Diploma holders in related areas are eligible to join the first year with exemptions. 
  2.  Any other equivalent qualifications approved by the school of Business and Economics and the university senate.

Duration of the Programme

    The duration of the programme shall normally be EIGHT semesters (FOUR academic years)
