In the department of Economics we always strive to create and sustain scholarly environment for all cadre (Undergraduates, Masters and PhD) of our students. Faculty members of the department have created a scholarly community of practice embedded in teaching, research and dissemination and consultancy services.

We have embraced a culture to strengthen the faculty by tapping on our students’ academic potentials and talents.

 We are the only Department of Economics in Western Kenya region offering Masters and PhD degrees in Economics. Currently, The Department is strategically looking forward to evolve into School if Economics.
