Caroline Oloo is a lecturer at the School of Business and Economics, Department of Business Administration, Maseno University. She teaches Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Strategic Management oriented courses. She has research interests in entrepreneurship among the youth and women in informal and rural settings. Caroline is also interested in open source solutions for non- formal startups, innovation and e-Learning systems. She has served as a Departmental Course Facilitator and Learner Support Assistant at the eCampus, Maseno University.
Caroline is an NFP (Netherlands Fellowship Program) Fellow 2012. She has sufficient experience in qualitative research techniques like Atlast-i and Nvivo. She also has experience in quantitative research method. She has successfully completed various quantitative and qualitative projects not limited to quantitative inquiry on the role of women entrepreneurs in the informal rural setting and Social Responsibility and mixed study research on the youth, networks in informal settlements. Caroline has immense local and international experience in research. She has worked with a team of international scholars to investigate the learning experiences of entrepreneurs and how such learning has led to the development of proactive versus reactive entrepreneurial behavior.
Beyond professional background, she volunteers in community empowerment programs such as entrepreneurial training and mentor-ship of the youth to tap into their entrepreneurial energy.
She holds a Second Class Honors, Upper Division in Business Administration, B.B.A. (Hons) degree from Maseno University in Kenya, a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) degree from Maseno University in Kenya, a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree from the University of Greenwich in the United Kingdom and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration, with key focus in entrepreneurship from the University of Maseno in Kenya.
